“This Zainichi North Korean Life”. 2023.
As the world continuously grows in diversity, much opposition against such diversity also grows. Resultantly, many ethnic minorities are underrepresented, neglected, or even completely unseen. One such ethnic minority group is the Zainichi North Koreans, an ethnically North Korean group of people currently living in Japan. Often unseen by the world, the Zainichi North Koreans, shortly called the Zainichis, exhibit unique efforts to maintain their presence in Japan. The podcast "This Zainichi North Korean Life" introduces the existence of the Zainichi North Korean population to the world, hoping to increase awareness of the lives of these minorities through the lens of various Zainichi high school students.
“Rating the 5 Stars: Anthropocene Reviewed”. 2023.
Inspired by John Green's series "Anthropocene Reviewed", I scripted and recorded a short podcast episode of my own "Anthropocene Reviewed". In this podcast, I review and rate the 5-star rating system that the world uses on nearly every occasion, whether it's for restaurants, iOS applications, industrial products, works of art, or even people.
ALl in one bowl (podcast series). 2022-present.
This podcast series is a compact Asian American Studies course in podcast form. Under the nonprofit organization “Korean American Young Leaders”, I have led this podcast series since 2022, recording podcasts, writing scripts, and editing scripts and recordings. In around 5 minute episodes, our team covers topics like politics, social norms, pop culture, and more as it relates to Asian American history. Above is an example episode of our podcast, solely written, recorded, edited, and published by me.
